CHIC UPDATE for PARENTS!!

CHIC Registration Night- Nov 13th, 5-6PM We are doing online registration as a group to help this go as smoothly as possible!  Please be ready to pay your deposit ($50-cash, check, credit) a this time. If you are not able to make it, you will still be able to register online.  Let me know if you have any questions!


First CHIC Fundraiser- Nov. 20th, Building Advent Wreaths, after each Sunday morning service.
Families will be able to build their own Advent Wreaths for a small fee. We will be helping them with the materials, as well as serving a small meal. If your student cannot make it, just make sure they have a delegate in their place to receive credit for the fundraiser.  Stay tuned for more info...

Also Nov 20th, Flag Football before the Thanksgiving Service.  5.30PM at Faith. 6.30 service and PIE! All welcome.

Backwards Fall Retreat @ Portage Lake!

November 4 – 6, 2011 Cost = $99 (includes van ride to and from camp) You must have a medical form on file RSVP to the Church Office with payment by November 2, 2011. Be at the church by 4pm on Friday, November 4. Bring money for dinner on the way to camp and for lunch on the way home from camp. The van will return to church on Sunday, November 6 around 4:00pm. What to pack: warm clothes, 2 pair of shoes (someone always gets them soaked!), sleeping bag, Bible, etc… Finishing off our last 4 weeks of teaching at Move, speaker Ben Zabel and Steve Raisch will be looking at how Jesus gave us the perfect example of how to live in relationship with each other, the world around us, and with God. Throughout the weekend, we will be exploring the Backward Kingdom that Jesus calls us to live in. Join us on this journey of discovering how to be Backwards people, living out a Backwards message, in a world that doesn’t realize how Backwards it really is!Back by popular demand is “The Least of These”. They will be leading us in worship during chapel and rocking out an awesome concert!

Packing tips from Adventurous Christians

1. Follow the packing list very closely!
2. Closed toed/ durable shoes- old tennis shoes work great- worn in, comfortable perfect for the trail, Also remember a pair of dry shoes once we make it to camp each evening.
3. At least 2-3 pr of WOOL socks.
4. Dependable rain gear pants and jacket, NO PONCHOS!!
5. Water bottle; nalgene, etc...
6. Leaders and students need health forms!! Pease get them in!

Car Wash this Saturday!!

All students wanting to raise money for the Boundary Waters should be at the church at 9.30am to set up for the car wash. Also, I would love to see as many PARENTS as possible helping out. We will wash cars from 10-3pm. I'll buy lunch!

PLEASE BRING ANY OLD TOWELS FOR DRYING THAT YOU CAN!!

Boundary Waters Car Wash

The car wash for the boundary waters fundraiser will happen on July 16th, from 10AM to 3PM. You can download the form here. Then you can go collect pledges for the cars you wash! Don't forget to encourage people to bring their cars to be washed!

Also, just a few slots left if you want to bring a friend, but let me know ASAP!!

Just a reminder that our 30 Hour Famine is this weekend. Starting Friday Night at church, spending the night at church, service projects on Saturday, then breaking the fast with dinner Saturday evening. Its all to raise money to help feed starving children!

Boundary Waters Information

Who: Incoming Freshmen –Graduated Seniors

When: July 25-29 (plus travel days on both ends We will also have to stay at least a night on the way up and on the way back… possibly two.

What: Canoeing/Camping for a week of adventure, connecting with God and each other

How Much: $500

Deposit: $50 (due April 3)

Cost Includes:

Shooting for overall cost of 500$ which includes:

- the guides, canoes, etc…

- travel to and from boundary waters (van)

- housing to and from boundary waters

As well as:

•All equipment (tents, duluth packs, canoes, paddles, pfds, cooking gear, stoves, etc.)

•All meals/snacks while at camp and on trail

•Drop off and pickup services to BWCAW entry points

•Lodging accommodations at AC on day of arrival

•AC guide/host/counselor services for entire stay

•Sauna and celebration banquet meal after returning to AC after canoe trip
